TNA Report for 10/22/09

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTI … ehm, uhh I mean MACTION!!

Well, it looks like I’m here to stay, sock puppets and all!

TNA’s a somewhat “easy” topic to have to write about, but then again, not everyone can get the job done. But enough about me, at least before I start to cry …, and on with the show! Erm, the report!

Homicide v. Amazing Red

Homicide starts off slamming Red hard into the mat, and Red tries to get back into the match with some kicks to Homicide. Homicide takes over though, and hits Red with a Pump Handle Suplex. Homicide Irish whips Red into the ropes and goes for a Crossbody Splash. Red moves out of the way, but is hit by a “Hot Shot” and is pinned for a near-fall. Homicide, like every heel does, starts to argue with the ref because of the count. Red takes advantage, and performs a Rollup for a near-fall. Homicide gets trapped in the corner, and Red hits hit with a Dropkick. Red goes on to hit a Tilt-A-Whirl Scissors Kick on Homicide before landing a Code Red for a near-fall. Homicide counters Red’s Irish Whip attempt, and hits a Gringo Killer for the win.

Winner: Homicide | Rating: 6.5/10

Hmm, Red finally loses another match? Thought they would’ve given him more time to go undefeated, but oh well …

This might mean that they’re trying to but Homicide back in the X Division Title picture.

Matt Morgan v. Scott Steiner

Steiner starts off talking to Lashley’s wife … and it’s a familiar face. Hey lookies! It’s Krystal from WWE! I bet all those ten year olds out there thought she was really marring T-Long …

Steiner starts his attack off first, but Morgan eventually comes out strong. Morgan sends Steiner into the turnbuckles and hits him with a short Splash. Morgan looks a little shaken up from the move, and Steiner takes advantage. Steiner deals a Suplex to Morgan followed by a clothesline. Next, freakishly muscular pushups!

Steiner’s showboating allows Morgan to come back, and Morgan hits Steiner with a clothesline. Morgan chokes Steiner on the ropes, and then he jumps onto Steiner and pulls him out of the ring. Morgan tries to slam Steiner into the guardrail, but Steiner counters and does the damage to Morgan before sending him into the ring. Steiner goes after Krystal and makes her touch his chest. Lashley comes out to protect her and starts attacking Steiner. Lashley sends Steiner into the ring post, and tosses him back in the ring. Morgan hits the Carbon Footprint for the win.

Winner: Matt Morgan | Rating: 7/10

Lashley gets a little promo time at the end saying that this isn’t a game that Steiner wants to play, and he better watch out. Not that anyone actually pays attention to threats they receive on the show …

Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash v. AJ Styles & Daniels

Wow, they’re really stacking their matches tonight …

Daniels and AJ come out last, and are attacked before the bell can ring. Styles fights back, and hits a Phenomenal Drop on Joe. Daniels tags in and hits a leg lariat for a near-fall. Daniels sends Joe into a waiting Styles’ boot before tagging Styles back in. Styles tries to give some punches to Joe, but Joe counters and hits a Yakuza Kick followed by a Back Senton. Joe tags Nash in, and Nash hits a side slam for a near-fall. Nash goes to give Styles some elbow shots, but Styles counters and fights back. Styles hits a Phenomenal Springboard Forearm and both he and Nash are down. Daniels tags in and gives some shots to both Joe and Nash. Daniels soon after sends Joe into Nash, who catches him in a front face lock. Daniels climbs the turnbuckles and jumps onto Nash, causing Samoa Joe to be DDT’d in the process. Daniels with some shots to Nash to, but Nash counters into a clothesline. Styles hits a Moonsault onto Joe who’s on the floor and no one can help Daniels. Nash performs a chokeslam for the win.

Winners: Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash | Rating: 7/10

Nash goes on to say that the win was nothing, and when he finds Eric Young he’s going to pay for costing Nash his Legends Title and $60,000.

Meh, again with the threats!

Raisha Saeed v. Awesome Kong

Yeah, the two broke up … tragic.

Saeed tries to avoid Kong, but is caught hit and Kong performs a Giant Swing. Saeed tries to forearm Kong, which of course didn’t work. Saeed starts to give Kong some kicks before delivering a Dropkick to her legs. Saeed runs up to go for a boot to the face to Kong, but Kong blocks the boot. Kong goes for the Back Fist, but Saeed dodges it and slaps Kong. Kong tries some punches, but Saeed dodges those as well into some shots of her own. Saeed bounces off the ropes and runs into a brick wall! Erm, she runs into Awesome Kong. Kong climbs the turnbuckle, but Saeed takes her down with a Leg Drop for a near-fall. Saeed climbs the turnbuckle again, but goes for a splash. Kong pulls the knees up, and goes for the Implant Buster, but Saeed counters with some punches. Kong gets Saeed in a powerbomb position, however, but Saeed counters and goes for a rollup. Kong literally sits onto Saeed, who was lying on the mat under her. Kong hits the Implant Buster on Saeed for the win.

Winner: Awesome Kong | Rating 6/10

The rating received a little boost because of the after match segment …

After the match, Kong drags Saeed to the stage and it looks like she’s going to take her backstage. Kong stops and starts to smile that crooked smile before putting Saeed in powerbomb position. Kong goes on to powerbomb Saeed through the far left side of the stage.

Hernandez v. Rhino

Rhino starts the match with a kick and forearm. Hernandez sends Rhino into the turnbuckles and then Hernandez runs into an elbow. Hernandez hits a plancha onto Rhino, but Rhino kicks Hernandez as he returns to the ring. Rhino with a snap mare and a rear chin lock. Rhino goes up to the turnbuckle, and goes for a diving head butt. He misses, however, and Hernandez hits a forearm and clothesline. Hernandez Stinger Splashes Rhino in the corner and then he hits a choke slam for a near fall. Hernandez climbs the turnbuckles, but Rhino tries to stop him. Hernandez sends Rhino off the turnbuckles when Rhino goes for a Super-Plex. Hernandez hits a splash off the turnbuckles for the win.

Winner: Hernandez | Rating: 7/10

After the match, Rhino goes for a Gore after he hits Hernandez with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Hernandez steps out of the way though, and sets up for the Border Toss. Team 3D goes into the ring and stops Hernandez, saying that Rhino isn’t worth it.

The Motor City Machine Guns v. Lethal Consequences – Ultimate X #1 Contender Match

Sabin and Shelley avoid each other and then they hit clotheslines into the corner. Sabin and Shelley tease going to the floor as Sabin goes to the apron and he kicks Lethal while Shelley goes for the tower. Creed sees Shelley, and delivers a spin kick to Sabin before pulling Shelley down. Then, Creed follows that up with a clothesline into the corner, and then a drop kick on Shelley. Creed climbs for the cables after hitting a Bulldog. Lethal tries to punch Sabin, but Shelley sends Lethal down to the floor. Sabin and Shelley pull Creed from the cable and they connect with a series of kicks. Sabin starts climb the cable while Shelley holds Creed. Creed runs Shelley into the corner to knock Sabin down. Lethal goes on to hit a Tilt-a-Whirl Back Breaker on Shelley. Lethal holds Shelley for a drop kick by Creed. Creed tries to punch Sabin and they fight on the turnbuckles. Lethal gets to the cable but Shelley walks Sabin on the ropes and Lethal is caught on the cable. Creed has Sabin who grabs Lethal. Lethal somehow gets away, and goes for the X. Sabin catches up to him, and they both fall to the floor. Creed comes back with a missile drop kick to Sabin. Shelley soon after delivers a round house kick to Creed. Sabin comes back with an enzuigiri to Lethal followed by a springboard tornado DDT. Creed and Lethal with some tag team action on Shelley. Lethal performs a Boston crab on Sabin to stop him from getting Creed who is climbing the tower. Shelley stops Creed and then The Machine Guns hit a springboard clothesline and power bomb combination. Sabin goes for the X, but Lethal hits Lethal Combination to stop him. Lethal and Shelley are on the turnbuckles and Sabin stops Lethal. They hit the Sliced Bread and power bomb combination and Shelley is down holding his knee. Sabin gets the X to try and win, but Consequences tries to stop him. Sabin grabs the X though, and the Machine Guns are the new #1 contenders.

Winners: The Motor City Machine Guns | Rating 7.5/10

Best match of the night easily …. at least so far. Consequences and Lethal looked like they’d be a good tag team when they first started, but I’ve only seen them win one match.

Beer Money Inc. v. The British Invasion (c.) – TNA Tag Titles Match/Six Sides of Steel

The match starts off with Roode hitting a flying forearm for a near-fall. Magnus goes to try and break up the count, but hits Williams instead. Roode goes for Magnus but Williams helps his partner and hits a gutwrench suplex. Williams sends Roode into the turnbuckles before tagging in Magnus. Magnus Irish whips Roode first hard into the cage and then to the turnbuckle. Magnus tags in Williams and they hit the Japanese clothesline but only gets a near-fall. Williams tries an Irish whip but Roode punches Williams and tries to tag in Storm. Williams stops him and Magnus sends Storm to the apron. Magnus tags in and he has Roode in a camel clutch. Roode punches Magnus but Magnus hits Roode in the lower back. Roode sends Magnus into the cage and goes on with a hard spinebuster and both men are down. Williams tags in and tries to stop Storm from tagging in. Storm starts sending some shots to Williams and Magnus. Storm hits a back body drop on Magnus and Williams and then Storm with a lungblower to Magnus for a near-fall. Beer Money hit Magnus with a double Suplex onto the cage, and then do the same to Williams

BEER MONEEYY!

Roode hits Williams with a DDT for a near-fall. Storm puts Williams on the turnbuckles and Magnus comes over to help. Williams starts climbs to the top of the cage while Storm hits an enzuigiri. All four men go to the turnbuckle, and a Tower Of Doom is formed. Storm is at the very top, and the British Invasion is in the middle. Roode has to sacrifice his partner, but they retaliate to hit the DWI. Magnus hits the referee to stop the count though, and some ref’s come out and stop the match, and they DQ The British Invasion.

Winners: Beer Money – DQ | Rating: 8/10

Better and better every week!

Show Rating: 8/10

Last Week: 8.5/10

Just a little bit less …

You won’t hear people cheering for the actual SHOW over a particular wrestler at a WWE house show like the fans were on this particular night. I’ll say it again, give TNA just a little while longer, and it will be your NEW attitude era.

I don’t think that TNA cares about putting WWE out of business, but with PPV names such as the ones they have now, WWE might do the dirty work themselves.

How’s that for TOTAL NONSTOP MATCION!?

The ending segment would make the show a 10 out of 10 alone :)

Angle vs Nigel (Wolf) will be epic.

Ohh yeah, thanks for the comments, keep 'em coming :)

Amd, for future reference, would it be better if I shortened the match summaries to fit some of the promos, or keep the reports as is?

Naah you're wrong, it's WWE who dont care about putting TNA out of business. I bet Vince doesn't even know what TNA is. The only competition to WWE is UFC

How come you didnt mention Angle and Mcguinness (Wolf).
Nice report on the matches anyway. BTW who came up with the Name for the report? They did a good job :p

I think i will blame someone for removing the segments part because usually the higher powers remove parts of segments for no reason.

Like I was just saying Jason, for future reference, would it be better for me to put all the promos in the reports?

All in all I didn't like this article, I think you were off on a few descriptive bits, you didn't write what happened in the promos and you didn't make it sound that good a show, when really it was one of the better impacts I have seen. Keep at it though. Also why do I get the sense you don't really enjoy writing articles?

This is the last comment I will post on this article:

1. I just so happen to like writing TNA's reports VERY MUCH.

2. The promos are edited a bit to get the match details in, I tend to write about 1960 words an article, so, to shorten it a bit some sentences & things that may not be as important are removed.

3. I'd have to DRAMATICALLY decrease the match reports to fit every single promo. I don't even list every move or thing that happens in a match just to save room, so please understand this everyone.
